The Cartoon that has caused Controversy!!!!
As you can tell from reading the cartoon, a lot of people have found it very offensive to the African-American community, and has caused a lot of activists to come out and attack this issue that we have here. A lot of people may say that we as a country have grown past this but for some people as you can tell have not, so Rev. Al Sharpton and other activists such as John Legend have come out with a statements against this act of what he calls racism. At its most benign, the cartoon suggests that the stimulus bill was so bad, monkeys may as well have written it. Others believe it compares the president to a rabid chimp. Either way, the incorporation of violence and (on a darker level) race into politics is bound to be controversial.Rev. Al Sharpton has weighed his view on the cartoon with this statement:
"The cartoon in today's New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that "Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill."
"Being that the stimulus bill has been the first legislative victory of President Barack Obama (the first African American president) and has become synonymous with him it is not a reach to wonder are they inferring that a monkey wrote the last bill?"

Thirteen yr old Father!!!!

At thirteen most kids only know whatever their parents tell them about sex. Thirteen year old Alfie Patten has just become a father. Although he is not the youngest child to ever have a baby The babies mother, fifteen year old Chantelle Steadman, and Alfie decided not to get an abortion. They also decided against adoption.
Apparently children in Europe are more sophisticated than American children in more ways than just the ability to drink. They are capable of responsibly raising children as well.
When asked about the situation Alfie said, “I thought it would be good to have a baby… I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me £10.”
Little Alfie definitely sounds like he’s really sat down and thought about all this. Hopefully European child labor laws don’t apply to children who have children.
Man its funny how this story is getting so big in the USA but it occured in the UK, but i feel so sorry for this guy who is 13 yrs old and has a child. Rumors have speculated in the UK news that the mother of this child slept with two other boys who have claimed that they could be the father of baby girl Massie. Two of the boys have claimed that the mother of the baby slept with many many guys so anyone out there could be the father. Now would you say she is a slut or what?

All-Star Weekend!!!!

Last night i watched the All-star game and it was good, very different from other All star games, they actually played defense for all 48 minutes. The most exciting thing of the night was displayed by showman and entertainer the big man himself Shaq diesel, who displayed a few moves on the dance floor with season 1's Americas best dance crew, the Jabbawockeez . I was solemnly impressed with the competitiveness that was obviously displayed in last night's game. The reunion of the most dynamic little man-big man duo and the great coach Phil Jackson. Kobe Bryant and Shaq played together for the first time since June 15. 2004 and they displayed some of the old plays they used to have in their arsenal back whne they were together. It was nice seeing them play together and it was very entertaining. Kobe was the leading scorer of the game with 27 points and shared the honor of MVP with his old teammate and buddy Shaq, it was such a great moment to experience. Now the question i ask is do you see Shaq in a Lakers uniform in the future???

RYAN LESLIE’S SELF-TITLED RELEASE
t seems like forever since we first heard Ryan Leslie on “Diamond Girl” then became mildly interested in his relationship with Cassie. Finally after many push backs, his self-titled debut has been released. His first single wasn’t a smash hit but it seemed that the Harvard grad could only excel from there.
Unfortunately, the ride is more of a one-note coast rather than any unexpected twists and turns.Leslie wafts in and out of his infatuation for this woman or the next from the neatly wrapped club bangers like “Addiction” to the adult contemporary drum-beats in “Quicksand.”
Honestly, I can’t help but wonder what is it about women that he is so in love with that makes him want to whisper but never actually shout.
Since Leslie is clearly aware of his distinct tone’s vocal boundaries he gains points for knowing his limitations (which is more than we can say for a lot of artists). “Valentine” allows Leslie to play a Prince-like character mimicking the high-pitched singer’s seductive murmur; then crossing back over to his own sound. Evoking a game of vocal double- dutch that is admirable but not really very interesting. If you look closely in the credits for the neo-soul inspired “Just Right” you will find keyboard additions from rumored fling and model Chanel Iman.
High notes include “How It Was Supposed to Be” which pleasantly brews base and guitar instrumentation that fit like a glove. On the flip side “I-R-I-N-A” will tickle your fancy but is not likely to keep your attention if it should be so lucky to grab it.
For writing, composing, and producing his own music Leslie gets honorable mention among the R&B new school. But though things fizzle a little, this debut fails to come to a full boil.

Chris Brown's Image tarnished???

Of course we all heard about the recent activity regarding the Chris Brown-Rihanna fight which led to he being wanted by the police for a brutal attack on his girlfriend. things not looking to good for him, he has a history of domestic abuse. his mother used to get abused by his step dad and his step dad would abuse him too. This was said in an interview in 2007 and he also mentioned that he would go after his stepdad with a bat and kill him, thats pretty crazy of him to say that, but we all know his intentions in that interview were good but a lil crazy. This lovely couple i guess has problems too, and i hope these problems can be solved in a nice manner and still maintain a good relationship if its boyfriend and girlfriend or if its just a friendship. So far things not looking good, Wrigleys, for those who dont know make the Doublemint gum, which endorse him have suspend their commercial until further noticee, and its pending on his court case scheduled in March. Well if he is charged for the felony his image is in jeopardy and could hurt his clean baby boy image but then again if he does good with the ladies he could win back the hearts of all the young ladies out there. I guess a bad boy image will not be good, this is funny because i am reminded by the Tina and Ike turner relationship, hopefully this one will not take that road.

The Grammys!!!

The moment every musician looks forward too, the 51st Grammy awards were on tonight on CBS. There were so many good performances and your favourite artist won some awards, the biggest performance was the performance of T.I, Jay-z, Lil Wayne and Kanye West all on one stage, they called it the hip hop summit on stage, it was an incredible performance and they were also joined by the very pregnant British pop star MIA known for her smash hit "Paper Planes" which i love. Coldplay won three grammys and performed their smash hit "Viva la Vida" and also performed "Lost " featyuring Jay-z. The Grammys was filled with wonderful performances by Al Green, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Foxx, Ne-yo, Smokie Robinson,Kid Rock and a whole lot of others. Rihanna and Chris Brown were supposed to perform but they had some legal problems last night so they both could not make it to the event and both are under police investiation. Well i hope they can figure out the differences and continue to make great music for their adoring fans. Next year watch out for new artist such as Kid Cudi and Wale, they are the new form of Rap music, also to the scen of rap look out for Chester French to bring their creativity to the Rock scene. The grammys did not disappoint this year but hopefully that next year the album of the year goes to another genre besides Country music. Viva la Vida really deserved to win more of the awards tonight because they had sold more albums than Lil Wayne's the Carter III and had number one singles, they were very creative in making that project and had great lyrical content, but Coldplay never seizes to dissapoint its fans, and im looking forward to their next album.

Kobe vs Lebron

The show down of the two biggest stars in the NBA happened today and it was not as exciting as the critics thought it would be. amazing. Kobe happened to be sick so he was not to his usual self but rounded up with 19 points in the game and hit an amazing turn around jumpshot over the taller Lebron james. Lebron Jmaes suffered his worst shooting night of the season at home, he was 5-20 from the field and it was not looking too good for him, now is this the answer to stopping Lebron James by cutting his lanes off, or was this just a bad day for him, even tho he has performed poorly against the Lakers in the two games.... i believe that he will look at the game tape and correct the mistakes he saw from the two games, and improve on that. The man that was unstoppable was lamar odom with 28 points and 17 rebounds both a season high, if they get this from him every night i think he can be the driving force the lakers are missing from the bench or when he starts. Well the Lakers are now the team to beat and i think its going to be a very good playoff season to come.

52 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists not 10 assists!!!!!

Lebron James had an amazing game against the Knicks two nights after Kobe dropped 61 points. I asked myself a good question, do the knicks really suck at playing defense on superstas or was this a setup......now im sure ppl are going to disagree with me when i say this so i wont. Lebron had an incredible game and im was happy to see it on tv. He is a beats physically and he is a skilled player. I had mentioned to my friends that to top of Kobe's game, Lebron or DWade would have to have a triple double....Lebron had a triple double until i was taken away from his last night, so its either DWade's turn to come with a triple double to have a beatter game that both of these guys, it was such an amazing game from Lebron and Kobe, but during the Cavaliers and Knicks game, lebron was not the only one who had a good game, Al Harrington had 39 points and 12 rebounds, he was the reason to why they were in the game with them. Hopefully the Knicks can have a better defensive scheme for players such with such high caliber skills next time, even tho they have a coach who is not known for thier defense, now its time for things to change in New York defensively......

61 points in Madison square Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kobe Bryant is the closest thing to the greatest player to player to ever play in the NBA, Michael Jordan...last night i was watching the game and i was convinced that he has the most complete game in the league at the very moment. As much as everyone has talked about the emergence of the Cleveland cavaliers and the MVP going to Lebron i think the reigning MVP has now shut all haters and is the number one candidate to win the MVP again even though he mentioned Lebron winning it this season but i think he is going to win it again. He has set the record of the most points scored by an opponent in the current Madison Square Garden, last person to do it the great Michael Jordan. He was so unstoppable in the game, he is a beast. He is one of the few player that i can say controls the outcome of the game from the defense to offense. To name a few in the game that do it are Dwayne Wade and Lebron James...a healthy TMAC would be in this conversation or maybe i should say the old TMAC would be in this conversation.....he is plagured by injuries. im happy to have witness the greatest player in the league put on a show at the MECCA of basketball!!!!
